RIDE FOR RICCI / Surprise Ground Breaking

Ride for Ricci was a success, we had such a great turn out -- about 1,500 people!. I was truly encouraged to see such strong support from the community to support the Branca family. Thanks everyone!

And what awesome guests we had. It was so great to hear Bill Elliot (founder of Hero campaign) speak. His passion to stop drunk driving is really contagious.

And what about Mayor Sonny McCullough, John Carmen, and Paul Hodson? While they were all on stage, Mayor McCullough surprised us all with an announcement that we had been granted the administrative approval by Egg Harbor Township to begin building the bike/skate park. The crowd roared! The mayor did the honors by digging the first shovelful at the future site of PATMOS PARK right then and there! So now it's officially ON!

As for donations to Ricci's shed, we got tons of helmets, bike frames, tires, boards, trucks, and loads of random parts. As if the administratice approval wasn't enough of a surprise, a tractor was donated by Brett V's boy, Bill. Other donations included a big storage container (for some of the park's building materials) from Jogn at Fresh Cut. and a sound system from EHTYO, which we used at the event. We are so touched by the overwhelming generosity the our community.
