Our friend, Ricci Branca, was tragically struck and killed by a drunk driver on July 18, 2006, while riding his bike with a group of friends. Ricci was part of the group of local youth who have been working tirelessly, along with Shore Fellowship Church members, on PATMOS PARK, a skateboard and BMX park scheduled to break ground very soon. This world-class park will be built on the grounds of Shore Fellowship Church in Egg Harbor Township. Ricci was instrumental in the building of dirt jumps and other projects in preparation for the past two PATMOS PARK fundraisers and in the planning of the Park.

Ricci’s family and the Shore Fellowship PATMOS team decided to come together to show our love for Ricci and ensure that his memory lives on. And so, the idea for RICCI’S SHED was born. The shed will be filled with bike and skateboard parts that will be available at PATMOS to those riders who need them (the only “catch” is that the recipient of a part must write Ricci’s family a thank-you note).  

The event will kick off with a RIDE FOR RICCI, from the Egg Harbor Township BMX Park to the future site of PATMOS PARK ( Shore Fellowship Church) where bike/skate ramps and dirt jumps will be set up. There will be no contests or awards at the Jam this time…… just an all-out fun time honoring Ricci by doing what he loved best…..riding!  Food, drinks, and T-shirts will be available for sale, along with plenty of music, and 5,000 free stickers that participants will want to keep in memory of Ricci. Activities will continue until dark, when the event will wrap up with a bonfire.

This is where you can help. Your donation/advertisement in the Ricci’s Memorial Ad Book will help buy parts for RICCI’S SHED and assist his family during this very difficult time in their lives. The ad book will be distributed at the Memorial Jam. This will be our biggest event ever, and we expect 1,000 + attendees as well as support from local organizations such as M.A.D.D., D.A.R.E, and the HERO Campaign. Egg Harbor Township Mayor, Sonny McCullough, will be at the head of the pack in the RIDE FOR RICCI!
